Trusted CI Scholars – Mentor Recruitment
“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey
We invite you to play a meaningful role in shaping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by serving as a mentor in the Trusted CI Scholars Program.
Mentorship is more than guidance; it is a professional partnership that fosters growth, confidence, and connection. Through this program, you will support emerging scholars as they navigate their place within the cybersecurity and research ecosystem, offering both career insight and encouragement at pivotal moments in their development.
Why serve as a mentor?
As a mentor, you will:
Share your expertise and lived experience to help others grow
Strengthen the cybersecurity research community
Develop your own leadership and coaching skills
Build meaningful professional relationships
What does participation look like?
The program is designed to be impactful while respecting your time. Over the course of the program (May – Nov), mentors will:
Engage in a brief orientation and pairing process
Connect regularly with a mentee through short weekly check-ins (10-15 minutes)
Participate in five one hour structured “Connect & Coach” conversations
Offer guidance around key themes such as goal setting, strengths development, and overcoming challenges
Who makes a strong mentor?
We are seeking professionals who:
Bring experience in cybersecurity or related fields
Communicate thoughtfully and effectively
Are motivated to invest in the growth of others
Approach mentoring with empathy, curiosity, and professionalism
By becoming a mentor, you are contributing to a stronger, more connected, and more resilient cybersecurity community.
