Call for Participation: Trusted CI Research Cybersecurity Cohort

The Call for Participation for the second Trusted CI Research Cybersecurity Cohort engagement is now closed, and we would like to thank everyone who expressed interest. About the Engagement

The Research Cybersecurity Cohort is a six‑month, group engagement designed to help research organizations address emerging research security–related cybersecurity requirements (e.g., NSPM-33). Throughout the engagement, cohort members will work closely with Trusted CI to:

  1. Assess their cybersecurity program using the Trusted CI Framework; and 

  2. Evaluate their implementation of basic cybersecurity controls relating to research cybersecurity. [1]

Format and Timeline

The Second Research Cybersecurity Cohort will meet from July through December 2026

Participants will:

  • Attend six monthly workshops (three hours each)

  • Spend no more than eight hours per month on cohort activities outside workshop sessions

Who Should Participate

Research organizations receiving $50M or more in federal research funding, including higher education institutions, NSF research facilities, and national laboratories, are highly encouraged to participate.
